Tired of the same old 3D movies and TV shows? 3net is about to change that as the company announced they would start creating 3D content through a new production venture called 3net Studios. 3net partners — Sony, Discovery and IMAX — say the new studio will create content in native 3D 4K, 2D 4K, 3D 2K and both 3D/2D HD formats, making their productions compatible with most current and future broadcast platforms. 3net is expected to reveal their upcoming slate of projects in the coming weeks.
“From television, mobile, computer and tablet companies, to broadcast channels and digital content providers, the global demand for a high quality, native 3D programming pipeline has quickly become one of the most vital elements within the 3D ecosystem,” said Tom Cosgrove, President and CEO, 3net.
3net is a dedicated 24/7 3D television network that launched in Feb. 2011. The channel is currently available on DIRECTV channel 107.
